About the Artist

Bruce Rodger

Art is a passion that bites you like a bug. Once bitten there is no escape. I was bitten at an early age … around twelve, and I have not been able to quell that desire to create paintings.

In 2015 I was at last able to devote my abilities to the creation of the artworks that had long been simmering in my thoughts. For my landscape painting I search far and wide to find the scenes that infuse me with feeling and the sense of the Australian countryside.

The natural beauty of our country inspires me to translate those pale greys, golds and blues of pasture, crops, trees, earth and sky onto canvas or panel through the medium of oil paint, which has qualities in its use and finish that, to this day, have not been surpassed.

As a professional I have endeavoured to improve my work at every step, in technical aspects, quality of materials and artistic intent.

I have been fortunate enough to have some successes in competitions and many of my works have entered private collections.
